Mandalay pt 2

The next day, we had a boat take us down the river to a famous pagoda. We had the whole boat to ourselves & the river was very peaceful.
And when we got there, there was a taxi waiting for us!

The pagoda was famous because the King who ordered it built wanted it to be the largest in the country, but ran out of money half way through so they stopped building. It was quite a hike to the top!

A couple of nuns had climbed to the top as well.

Next, we went over to another temple that had an enormous bell.

Here you can see the unfinished pagoda. We went to another temple & they had artifacts that they had somehow acquired from Angkor Wat & kids were climbing all over them!
The doors were perfect "Chad size."While in Mandalay, our guide told us that the city was "just like New York City." Can you see it?!?
